Community Speed Checks - following concerns raised by parishioners at the Annual Meeting about the number of vehicles appearing to speed through the village, after training by West Mercia Police, a team of volunteers has been carrying out speed monitoring at four sites in the village since June last year.

Speeds of 35 to 45 m.p.h. in the 30 m.p.h. limit are recorded on most occasions that checks are carried out, and in one instance 55 m.p.h. on Mill Bank.

Volunteers work in teams of three for approximately one or two hours per month, and full training which takes two hours is provided by the Safer Roads Team

The Parish Council would like to continue with speed checks during the summer and, if you are willing to join the team and help raise speed awareness in Fladbury, we would be happy to give you more information. If you wish you could join a team for a speed check session before you decide whether to participate.
